Trust needs more than a mascot.

A place for verifiable operational and legal reporting. Historical request counts are available only through dated, published reports.

What the first report should include

Define the reporting period, the entity publishing it and the categories being counted. Distinguish requests received, valid requests, requests challenged, accounts affected and information actually disclosed. Explain the limits of publication where the law imposes them.

Make changes visible

Reports should have dates, stable links and a public correction process. Updating a number should not silently erase the previous version. Methodology matters when comparing one reporting period with another.

Operational transparency

Publish the status methodology, incident summaries, material policy changes and known service limitations. A provider earns trust by describing failures clearly as well as explaining the intended design.

Publication state

KoalaVPS has not published a historical transparency report. Check the reporting period, scope and methodology on any future release before drawing conclusions from its figures.

What a useful report should distinguish

Separate the period covered, requests received, the legal process involved, the data categories actually held and the outcome that can lawfully be disclosed. A missing field should mean unknown or not yet published, not an invented zero. Reports need an update history so a later reader can see which statement applied at a particular time.

Publish operational evidence with a method

Availability figures need a defined measurement source, covered services, observation interval and treatment of planned maintenance. A hardware incident needs a clear start, detection, mitigation and recovery record. Historical performance statements need dated records and a reproducible measurement method. An unpublished period should not be presented as a verified zero-incident period.

A public key or canary must be verifiable

Publish an operator-controlled key and fingerprint only after their ownership is confirmed. A canary should identify its signing key, date, exact scope and next expected update. Copying another provider’s signed file or key would establish nothing about KoalaVPS.
