Ping answers a small question
Ping estimates round-trip response time and packet loss for a destination that answers ICMP. Some hosts rate-limit or filter replies, so a missing response is not proof that an application is offline.
Traceroute needs interpretation
Traceroute explores hops along a path, but intermediate routers may deprioritise diagnostic responses. A slow reply at one hop is not automatically a bottleneck if later hops respond normally. Forward and return paths can differ.
Route information needs context
A BGP route view can show the selected path and advertised prefixes from a particular router. It is one viewpoint at one moment. It does not guarantee the same route from every customer or in the opposite direction.
Keep diagnostics bounded
A public tool should validate destinations, reject private or sensitive targets where appropriate, limit request rates and avoid arbitrary command execution. KoalaVPS will publish verified test endpoints only when they are available.
What each diagnostic can tell you
Ping samples reachability and round-trip time to a responding destination. Traceroute reveals responding hops along a particular path, which may be incomplete or asymmetric. MTR repeats observations over time. A router may rate-limit diagnostic replies while forwarding application traffic normally, so loss on one intermediate hop is not automatically customer packet loss.
A public tool needs a constrained backend
A production looking glass should accept a validated destination and a small set of predefined diagnostics. It needs rate limits, timeouts and output limits, and must refuse private, loopback, link-local and otherwise inappropriate destinations. A free-form shell command field is not part of this planned tool.
A result needs a source and a time
A diagnostic result should identify its source location, address family, destination and time. This page does not connect a remote Nordic diagnostic service. Displaying an example output must never make it look like a current measurement.
A little more clarity.
Can I run a live Nordic network test from this page?
No. There is no connected remote diagnostic service. No ping, traceroute or MTR output is simulated as a current measurement.
