Open a real invoice
Choose XMR only at a merchant that explicitly supports a Monero invoice. KoalaVPS customer checkout does not currently accept XMR; its planned affiliate payout list is a separate programme. For an actual supported invoice elsewhere, check amount, destination, expiry and confirmation policy before sending.
Send from your own wallet workflow
Verify the destination in the wallet rather than trusting the clipboard alone. Leave enough funds for the network fee and check that the recipient receives the requested amount. Never disclose a recovery phrase to a merchant.
Wait for reconciliation
A broadcast transaction and a confirmed invoice are different states. Keep the invoice number and the appropriate payment proof privately. If confirmation is delayed, use a verified support channel and disclose only what the case requires.
Keep the privacy boundary honest
Monero’s transaction privacy features do not secure the VPS or the application. Protect the hosting account and server credentials independently, and read the payment and refund rules before paying.
A privacy-friendly payment still needs account security
Use a unique password, protect recovery and enable a supported second factor when a real account service offers it. Avoid sending identifying documents or unrelated wallet history in a support case. A payment receipt should disclose only what is necessary to resolve the invoice.
Keep recovery words away from merchants
A merchant can verify a payment through supported invoice evidence. It does not need the seed that controls your wallet. If anyone requests wallet recovery words to confirm a payment, stop and verify the channel independently.
Use this as a general XMR payment runbook
Monero is not currently a customer checkout option at KoalaVPS. The checkout offers BTC, ETH, SOL, LTC, USDT on TRON or Ethereum, and USDC on Ethereum. XMR appears in the planned affiliate payout programme, which is a separate flow. The steps below apply only to a merchant that explicitly issues an XMR invoice; they do not create a KoalaVPS deposit method.
- Read the merchant’s exact XMR amount, destination, expiry and confirmation requirements before opening the wallet transfer.
- Allow the wallet to synchronise and verify the full destination on the device or trusted wallet interface.
- Keep wallet recovery material offline and leave funds for fees. Do not paste a seed into an invoice or support form.
- After sending, keep the invoice reference, destination and transaction identifier privately. A merchant’s confirmation policy determines credit timing.

Resolve a missing credit with narrow evidence
Check wallet synchronisation and the transaction’s status before sending again. If the merchant cannot match the transfer, verify that the invoice destination and the sent destination are the same. Monero’s official wallet tooling can provide transaction-specific evidence, including the transaction key or supported proof workflow. This is different from giving away the wallet seed or private spend key. Provide only the evidence needed for that disputed payment, through the merchant’s verified support route.
- A stale wallet view, a still-pending transfer and an uncredited merchant invoice are different problems; identify which one exists.
- Keep the original invoice when a rate window expires after a transfer. Ask how late payments are reconciled rather than paying a second invoice immediately.
- Do not publish transaction evidence publicly as a routine troubleshooting step; it can reveal information you intended to keep private.
