SSH explained

SSH

An encrypted protocol for remote administration.

What it means

SSH can authenticate with keys and protect traffic between a client and server. The server host key identifies the endpoint; the user’s private key must stay private.

For hosting

Verify host-key changes rather than dismissing the warning automatically. Use separate keys or credentials where different access roles need independent revocation.

How will you verify a host-key change?

Use the provider’s trusted console or another independently established channel. A rebuilt server can legitimately change its key, but an unexplained change should be investigated before sending credentials.
