NVMe is a protocol, not a complete performance result. Device quality, contention, queue depth, filesystem and workload influence the latency and throughput an application sees.
For hosting
Use representative storage measurements and keep backups. Fast local storage is not automatically redundant or independently recoverable.
How does your application access the disk?
A database’s small synchronous writes and a large sequential backup stress storage differently. Benchmark the actual workload and consider recovery as well as speed.
