# Good connections need clear records.

Peering can exchange traffic directly between networks. Verified ownership and current records matter more than a wall of partner logos.

## Peering and transit

Peering exchanges traffic between participating networks under agreed conditions. Transit buys reachability to the wider internet. A network may use both, with routing policy deciding how each destination is reached.

## What should be published

A real network page can identify the operator’s assigned ASN, verified prefix information, a current peering database record and a reachable network operations contact. RPKI route-origin authorisations and sensible routing filters help reduce avoidable route errors.

## A logo is not an agreement

An exchange presence does not mean direct peering with every member. An upstream name does not prove contract scope, resilience or a specific traffic path. KoalaVPS publishes no unverified partner or exchange endorsement here.

## Peering information

KoalaVPS peering details are not currently published. Confirm the applicable policy and independently verifiable routing records before planning an interconnection.

## Publish network identity before inviting sessions

A peering request needs the operator’s verified ASN, prefixes, exchange presence, contact path and route policy. A brand relationship with a hardware, software or network provider does not establish an exchange port, transit contract or active BGP session. KoalaVPS has not inherited another operator’s ASN or peering database entries.

## A practical session review

Confirm the remote ASN, address family, exchange VLAN, session addresses, advertised prefixes, maximum-prefix limits and maintenance contact. Agree how route validity, filters and abnormal announcements are handled. Keep a rollback plan and monitor the session before treating it as a dependable production path.

## Keep claimed reach separate from measured reach

A logo, region label or proposed carrier relationship does not prove latency, geographic reach or redundancy. Publish verified sessions and topology information when they exist, with an update process that removes obsolete claims. A looking glass and route records should let others inspect the actual network state.
