# A network should explain itself.

Understand the Nordic region choices, the difference between a port speed and real throughput, and what evidence a hosting network should publish.

## A port is one part of the path

A 1, 10 or 100 Gbps interface describes a local link. Real throughput depends on the server, protocol, congestion, destination network and routing. A fair network description makes traffic policies and any sustained-use limitations clear.

## Mitigation has boundaries

DDoS protection can reduce some volumetric attacks; it does not remove every availability risk. Application abuse, encrypted request floods and vulnerable software may need application-level controls. Published limits, escalation routes and null-routing policies should be understood before relying on the service.

## IPv6 belongs in the plan

IPv6 provides native address space and often avoids workarounds built around address scarcity. Configure the host firewall for both protocol families, publish correct DNS records and test both paths. An IPv4-only firewall rule does not protect an IPv6 service.

## Check the route and service terms

Use verified routing records, test endpoints and dated measurements when comparing networks. An uplink label or partner logo does not establish an ASN, a particular transit arrangement or measured application performance.

## Read the map as geography, not inventory

The map uses real European country geometry and city reference points for Stockholm, Helsinki, Oslo and Reykjavík. Those points help explain placement and distance; they are not datacentre street addresses, a verified fibre route or proof of available capacity. A selected location must be confirmed against actual inventory when the service opens.

## Measure in both directions and over time

Collect round-trip latency, loss and application timings from the access networks your users actually use. Compare quiet and busy periods. A single favourable ping says little about an evening route change, transit congestion or database response time. The largest dedicated port in the catalogue is 100 Gbps; that is not a guaranteed end-to-end throughput to every destination.

## Mitigation and application resilience

Volumetric filtering can protect network capacity while an application still needs authentication, connection limits, caching and resource controls. Confirm the mitigation scope, activation behavior and treatment of traffic that cannot be safely filtered. No unverified attack-size record or measured backbone latency is attributed to KoalaVPS.

## A little more clarity.

Are the lines on the map physical cable routes?

No. They are visual connections between proposed catalogue locations. They do not assert a particular carrier path or fibre ownership.

REGIONS / PLACEMENT ANSWER

## Choose the route your users actually take.

The map places four Nordic region choices in their real European geography: Stockholm, Helsinki, Oslo and Reykjavík. Select around the users, databases and external services that communicate most often. Geographic distance is only one input; upstream routing, congestion and application behaviour determine the experience. Confirm a live region and test representative requests before treating a location label as a performance result.

Which Nordic locations can I compare?

The catalogue offers Stockholm, Helsinki, Oslo and Reykjavík as region choices. Confirm capacity for the selected location before ordering. Map markers show city geography; they do not represent facility ownership or a measured latency result.
